Shipping Basics

Setting up shipping costs in FastCart can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. Consider whether you should use separate shipping costs - including shipping costs in your product prices allows you to offer free shipping on your website - and that looks like a bargain!

If you choose to use shipping costs, please take your time to read the information on the shipping pages so that you know what each option does and how it works. If you are unsure what a particular option does, try it out. Use the test link above to view your cart in another window. Change the number of products, change the country of delivery and so on and see if the shipping options you have chosen work as expected. If not, change them in your control panel and try again.

Please note that to use shipping rates you must first enable shipping on your account. You can enable or disable shipping at any time without losing your settings - this may be useful if you want to offer free shipping for a limited period as part of a promotion, or if you are only testing shipping rates.

Shipping Quickstart Guide

The following is a brief guide to setting up some simple shipping rates as quickly as possible - you can begin trading with simple rates and change them to more complex rates at any time. The setups listed below are some of those most commonly used by FastCart users.

Free shipping worldwide
Simply turn shipping off.

Flat rate anywhere in the world
Set all countries to the same shipping zone (Rest of the World is fine) and click Save Details. Then enter the Minimum fee in your chosen shipping zone and click Save Details. Then test your cart.

Flat rate anywhere in the world with free shipping on orders over a specified value
Set all countries to the same shipping zone (Rest of the World is fine) and click Save Details then enter the Minimum fee and the Free Over fee in your chosen shipping zone and click Save Details. Then test your cart.

Free shipping for one country, different flat rate for all other countries
Set one country to shipping zone 1 and all other countries to Rest of the World and click Save Details. Check zone 1 shipping rates are all set to zero - if not, change them to 0.00 and click Save Details. Enter the Minimum fee in Rest of the World shipping zone and click Save Details. Then test your cart.

Fixed fee per item anywhere in the world
Set all countries to the same shipping zone (Rest of the World is fine) and click Save Details. Then enter your chosen shipping fee per item in Band 6 in Rest of the World zone and click Save details. Then test your cart.
